Located in the heart of Da Nang city, on the Pacific coast with year-round sunshine, Duy Tan University is growing with the city with the aspiration to innovate in a modern direction. Duy Tan University was established on November 11, 1994 under Decision 666/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. In 2015, the University converted to a private type under Decision No. 1704/QD-TTg dated October 2, 2015 of the Prime Minister. Duy Tan is the first and largest private university in the Central region, providing multi-level, multi-disciplinary, and multi-field training.

In 30 years of construction, growth and development, the University has enrolled over 140,000 PhD students, Master's students, and undergraduate students; training and graduating nearly 85,000 qualified human resources such as PhDs, Masters, Doctors, Pharmacists, Engineers, Architects and Bachelors (stopped enrolling in intermediate vocational training since 2012 and from 2018 the school did not enroll in college training), contributing quality human resources to the industrialization - modernization process and socio-economic development of the country. The results of the employment survey show that the employment rate of students after one year of graduation is nearly 95%. This affirms that the training quality of the school has contributed to improving the intellectual level of the people and the socialization of education.

To continue promoting training, scientific research, international cooperation, supporting students to start businesses, ... Duy Tan University has built a team of 1,553 cadres, lecturers and employees, including 1,096 lecturers; Lecturers with PhD degrees, with the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor are 335 people, accounting for 30.56%. Many of the staff and lecturers working at Duy Tan University have graduated from prestigious schools in the US, Russia, France, Germany, Canada, Korea, Belgium, etc. In addition, there are about 200 domestic and foreign lecturers who regularly come to Duy Tan University to give lectures. This team has contributed to Duy Tan University achieving in the past 5 years: The school is in the Top 5 schools with the most international publications in Vietnam (Web of Science by Clarivate, USA); implemented 1 State-level topic, 56 Ministry-level topics, 6 Protocol topics, 7 Provincial-level topics; developed 15 exclusive patents and 1 utility solution certificate, of which 13 certificates have been registered for protection abroad. With the motto of "standing on the shoulders of giants" to improve itself, Duy Tan University has cooperated with prestigious universities in the US to transfer training programs such as Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) - one of the top 4 universities in Information Technology in the US (according to U.S. News 2021); Pennsylvania State University - one of the top 50 schools in Economics - Business Administration in the US (according to U.S. News 2021); California State University at Fullerton - the largest school in the California State University system with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (CSU - CalState) - one of the top 5 schools in the US in training in Architecture - Construction; Purdue University - one of the top 10 schools in the US in the fields of Electricity - Electronics, Mechatronics. Not stopping at "importing" advanced programs, Duy Tan also created new turning points in the cooperation process by sending students to study abroad and obtain international degrees. Since 2010, Duy Tan University has officially launched the 2+2 study abroad programs (first 2 years in Duy Tan and the next 2 years in the US or Canada), 1+1+2 (first 1 year in Duy Tan and the next 3 years in the US) and 3+1 (first 3 years in Duy Tan and the next 1 year in Singapore or the UK). In particular, in 2017, Duy Tan University created a new milestone in the Central region when it officially signed an agreement with Troy University (USA), giving Vietnamese students the opportunity to receive an international degree while studying right at home in the following majors: Business Administration, Information Technology, Tourism & Hospitality Management. This is also one of the important steps to improve the training quality of Duy Tan University.

30 years of construction and development with many ups and downs, Duy Tan University has grown stronger and stronger with proud achievements. In particular, the school has a very high position on the world rankings. These include:

- Ranked 495th in the World's Best Universities in 2025 according to QS Rankings;

- The school has achieved ABET accreditation in the US for the Information Technology and Electrical-Electronics sectors;

- The first university in Vietnam to achieve UNWTO TedQual accreditation for the Tourism sector;
