Duy Tan University won the 2024 Da Nang Youth Volleyball Tournament

The DTU women's volleyball team won the dramatic final match on December 8, 2024 at the multi-purpose gymnasium of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary School, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City.

The tournament was organized by the Vietnam Youth Union, Da Nang City Student Association, Da Nang Community Volleyball Club and related units, creating a healthy playground for young people in Da Nang.

This year's tournament attracted 25 teams from the armed forces, union members, members and students from colleges and universities in the city. The teams were divided into groups to compete in 2 categories for men and women.

In the women's volleyball event, there were 9 teams competing, including: Duy Tan University, Dong A University, Danang University of Architecture, University of Economics, Danang University, Vietnam - Korea University of Information Technology, Danang University, University of Foreign Languages, Danang University, University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, University of Education, Danang University, and Tran Dai Nghia Secondary School.

As one of the expected candidates in this year's season, Duy Tan University's women's volleyball team brought the audience dramatic and attractive matches with beautiful and surprising moves.

The efforts and talents of the Duy Tan University girls created impressive moments, affirming their position in the hearts of fans with consecutive wins to reach the decisive final match, specifically: consecutive 2-0 wins against strong opponents including: Tran Dai Nghia Secondary School, University of Medical Technology, University of Education and Vietnam - Korea University of Information Technology of Danang University in the group stage, and 2-0 wins with specific scores of 25-21 and 25-17 against University of Economics, Danang University in the semi-final match.

Excellent performance

The victory in the matches against strong teams brought excitement and confidence to the Duy Tan University women's volleyball team when they "confronted" the Dong A University women's volleyball team in the final match.

This is the champion of the 2023 season, and is also a very strong team this season when it surpassed all opponents to enter the final match.

The girls deployed rhythmic and extremely coordinated passes from almost all positions, creating a solid game.

Nguyen Vu Hoang Phuong of Duy Tan University attracted the attention of the entire audience with her delicate and beautiful passes while the two main attackers, Do Thi Thuy and Le Thi Anh Nguyet, had skillful ball receptions through their outstanding observation skills.

In addition, names such as Dang Hang Mai Linh, Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh, Nguyen Thi Quynh Trang, Le Thi Thao Nguyen, Nguyen Thi Sang,... were constantly cheered and encouraged by the audience for their breakthroughs and beautiful dives to create impressive plays and leave a deep impression on the audience. All joined forces to help the team compete excellently and win 3-0 consecutively with scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-22 respectively. This victory not only brought home the prestigious Championship Cup but also symbolized the sportsmanship, solidarity and determination of each girl.

Captain of the Duy Tan University women's volleyball team, Bach Thi Cam Nhung, shared: "Under the enthusiastic and talented guidance of the two coaches who are in charge of teaching physical education at Duy Tan University, Mr. Tran Vien Dong and Mr. Truong Thai Son, and with the enthusiastic cheers of the student supporters, we competed with all our might in each match and were truly overwhelmed with joy of victory.

We would like to thank the teachers of Duy Tan University for not only creating opportunities for each member to acquire a lot of professional knowledge in a variety of professions, but also creating conditions for us to gather on the sports field to make friends, practice and win this extremely meaningful championship cup".

At the closing ceremony, the organizing committee awarded:

* Championship Cup to Duy Tan University women's volleyball team

* Second prize to Dong A University women's volleyball team

* Third prize to Tran Dai Nghia Secondary School women's volleyball team

* Fourth prize to the University of Economics, Da Nang University women's volleyball team.

In particular, the Best Striker of the season award was given to athlete Do Thi Thuy of Duy Tan University. Do Thi Thuy is currently the No. 1 striker of Duy Tan University women's volleyball team. Thanks to her flexibility, ability to read the game and identify the opponent's weaknesses, Thuy can always score in a variety of situations, contributing greatly to the absolute victories of Duy Tan University team in this year's tournament.

Previously, Duy Tan University women's volleyball team made its mark in many major tournaments such as:

* Champion at the "Volleyball Tournament for university, college and armed forces students in 2022" in Da Nang.

* Runner-up at the 2023 Vietnam National Student Volleyball Tournament.
